Media company, NewTV, develops short-form media for smartphones, and it just raised $1B led by Madrone Capital Partners. Other investors include Alibaba, Time Warner, Liberty Global, Warner Bros., The Walt Disney Company, 21st Century Fox, Viacom, MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Entertainment One. NewTV is founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, the CEO of DreamWorks Animation.
