LA Tech Week in Review

With so much going on in the thriving LA’s tech and startup ecosystem, it is easy to miss some of the news in the space. We keep you abreast of a few of things that you may have missed in LA Tech news this week including the fundings, exits, and events.

Science 37 , the clinical tech company, has raised $6.5M in a Series A round of funding from investors dRx Capital and Lux Capital. This is founders Noah Craft and Belinda Tan’s first round of funding.

Kaleo Software , the company helping you share information more effectively, has announced a Series A round of $7M from Greycroft Partners, Double M Partners, Saturn Partners and OMERS Ventures. Phil Hui-Bon-Hoa , the CEO and founder, has raised a total of 3 rounds thus far.

Divshot , the HTML5 web hosting platform, was acquired by Google for an undisclosed amount. Michael Bleigh and Jake Johnson had raised just $1.18M prior to the acquisition.

Digitour , social media’s music tour, has raised a Venture of $10M by Liontree and Slow Ventures. Husband and wife, Christopher and Meridith Rojas have raised $12.2M to date.

Clutter , the more personal storage company, has raised a Series A round of $9M led by Sequoia Capital, with help from Brendan Wallace.

Loyala University has announced the launch of new programs focused on Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Law. “Loyola is deeply connected to the legal and technological epicenter of Los Angeles. As such, we are uniquely positioned to equip students with the skills needed to help clients with the complex legal demands of the evolving technological landscape,” said Senior Associate Dean Sean Scott, who created the program. “Whether on a local, national or global level, graduates of our cybersecurity offerings should be able to take their expertise wherever duty calls.”
