LA Tech Week in Review

With so much going on in the thriving LA’s tech and startup ecosystem, it is easy to miss some of the news in the space. We keep you abreast of a few of things that you may have missed in LA Tech news this week including the fundings, exits, and events.

The Black Tux, the tuxedo and suit rental company, has announced a $25M Series B funding from Stripes Group, First Round and Menlo Ventures. Co-CEO’s Patrick Coyne and Andrew Blackmon have now raised a total of $40M.

Santa-Monica based ParkMe , the startup at the intersection of parking data and analytics, was acquired by INRIX . The terms of the deal of were undisclosed. ParkMe, founded in 2009 by Alexander Israel and Sam Friedman, had raised $8.3M over 2 rounds from investors including IDG Ventures , Fontinalis Partners , and the Angeleno Group . The founders will join the INRIX team and this acquisition comes after the two organizations have been partnering for the last several years.

Neft , the designers of patented credit tools, has raised $10M in a Series-A round from John Sculley, John Mack and Kevin Knight. This is founder’s Chad Swensen’s first funding for his company.

Acaia , the company that is improving the coffee experience has raised a Series A funding from WI Harper Group. This is founders Aaron Fujiki , Johnny Hou and Rex Tseng’s first round.
