The company’s recent merger with ActiveStandards allow them to proudly call themselves the number one cloud based DXM company across the board. With already $62M in funding and notable clients like Barclays, Diageo, and GSK, the company is cementing its role in a space that has a growing and real need.

LA TechWatch spoke with CEO Jim Yares about the startup and where is plans to go in the near future.

Tell us about the product or service.

Crownpeak provides a complete SaaS solution to quickly and easily create, deploy and optimize customer experiences across digital touchpoints at scale. The platform offers Digital Experience Management (DXM) featuring content management, personalization, search and hosting, in addition to fully integrated Digital Quality Management (DQM) to ensure brand integrity, compliance requirements and SEO guidelines are met.

How is it different?

Crownpeak was the first company to offer web content management as a service. Today, leading brands trust Crownpeak’s cloud-first Digital Experience Management with built in Digital Quality Management.

What market are you attacking and how big is it?

As a SaaS company ourselves, we’ve seen great traction with emerging technology companies that recognize the power of cloud-first technologies that enable organizations to scale and react quickly to market demands. Crownpeak’s solutions are apt for any enterprise. Our sweet spot is with multinational companies who have complex brand or product portfolios in highly regulated industries, such as Pharma, Financial Services and CPG.

What is the business model?

Direct sales, annual subscriptions available in several tiers.

Tell us a little about your background and what inspired the business?

Crownpeak is driven by a personally committed team that passionately works as champions of customer success. Tell us what building your company in LA has been like?

LA offers many positive factors that have contributed to the growth and longevity of Crownpeak. A clear and strong differentiator for Crownpeak has been the amazing pool of diverse talent we have attracted and who continue to propel our business as a leader in the industry.

What are the milestones that you plan to achieve within six months?

We have many new developments on the horizon as it relates to product enhancements and new service offerings. In fact, we have a major new UI release launching this quarter that will make the authoring experience even easier and more intuitive to use. That work is guided by our purpose to help our customers delight theirs.

If you could be put in touch with one investor in the community who would it be and why?

We are beyond thrilled with our amazingly supportive investors. It has been a tremendous year for Crownpeak enabled by some of the best and brightest investors and the most talented and dedicated team in the industry.

Where is the best place in LA to watch the sunset?

The LA-based Crownpeak team has staple hangouts when we go out to celebrate team wins including Herringbone in Santa Monica, Blue Taco (also in Santa Monica) and SALT restaurant at the Marina Del Rey Hotel.
