This Former President of Warner Bros is On a Mission to Fix a Broken Model

You know that friend you have that is a social buttery – the kind that you walk around with and you just meet a ton of new people? Think about that person…except as a video platform. The smart video platform AdGreetz is creating personalized video that wants to rebuild the relationships with customers that unfortunately has been broken time and time again. With the ability to work with virtually every channel available whether it be for social media or productivity tools, AdGreetz happily has you covered.

LA TechWatch chatted with CEO Eric Frankel about the company and how it is addressing a bigger problem than we ever thought existed.

Tell us about the product or service.

AdGreetz is the industry leading proprietary video personalization platform that helps brands build stronger relationships with consumers, drive revenue and accelerate their digital transformation by empowering them to converse with (past, current and potential) customers on an individual level with tens of millions of hyper-relevant, “smart”, data-driven, personalized, video messages and ads (on 15 digital and traditional channels) that engage and activate 50-500 percent better than other marketing tactics.

How is it different?

As far as we know, AdGreetz is the only company providing “smart”, hyper-relevant, data-driven personalized video to 15 unique channels (Facebook, Twitter, email, display, point of purchase, premium video, print, outdoor, etc.)

What market are you attacking and how big is it?

The $530B advertising industry.

What is the business model?

Brands rent AdGreetz’ proprietary video personalization platform for a monthly fee OR AdGreetz provides its platform for the industry first personalized video abandoned shopping cart and receives a percentage of recaptured revenue.

Tell us about what it’s like to build an ad-focused company in LA?

It’s an exciting time to be offering the industry a more engaging and activating way to converse with past, current and potential customers, utilizing billions of hyper-relevant messages versus one-size-fits-all video or static print.

Tell us a little about your background and what inspired the business?

I’m the former President of Warner Bros. Television Distribution who realized that advertising was “broken” and that one-size-fits-all video and static print created awareness but only limited activation. Therefore, I thought there was a need and an opportunity to create a platform that offered brands and agencies the ability to deploy “smart”, hyper-relevant personalized video ads and messages.

Tell us what building your company in LA has been like?

LA is a great city to launch a startup in, find talented people to build your team with and open-minded potential clients looking for new solutions to improve their bottom line.

What are the milestones that you plan to achieve within six months?

Sign 10 new Fortune 100 brands as annual customers.

If you could be put in touch with one investor in the community who would it be and why?

AdGreetz already has a wide array of the smartest, most accomplished investors ranging from former Chairmen of the largest entertainment companies in the world to the Governor of Illinois. Although we don’t spend a great deal of time seeking new investors, we are lucky to have people constantly inquiring about investment opportunities.

What does being “Made in LA” mean to you and your company?

As a former New Yorker, Made in LA represents the best of New York (smarts, hard work, diversity) with a casual, more laidback, healthy attitude.

What else can be done to promote early stage entrepreneurship in Los Angeles?

A more receptive attitude by ad agencies.

Where is the best place in LA to watch the sunset?

The Getty Museum.
